Calculus Stuff

The following links are to short tutorials on a few topics encountered in first semester Calculus.  These tutorials are interactive in that the animations are controlled by clicking on the Next Arrow located in the upper right of the screen.  After all of the steps have been completed, you can click on the Start Over button or you can click on any of the partial results that are covered with shades of gray.  By clicking on a gray shaded partial result, hopefully the short animation will answer the commonly asked question of "Where did this stuff come from?"

Chain Rule:
Chain and Product combo:
Integration by Substitution:

Examples of Function Composition

These tutorials involve interactive animations programmed using Macromedia Flash 5 and Action Script.  If you see math equations moving below, then you have the Flash 5 Player plug-in.  If you do not have the Macromedia Flash 5 Player (or the newer version 6) installed with your browser, then you will not see the moving equations.  If you would like to download the Flash plug-in and join the 21st century of the web, then link to the Macromedia Flash Player site, click on "Download Now," and follow the instructions.

All comments are welcome, so please let me know what is good or bad about the way this stuff is presented.  I plan to add more stuff in the future, so feel free to tell me what types of concepts you would like to see added.  This is "work in progress".
