January 2005 Class - Orientation & Information Meeting:
Friday November 5, 2004 - 5:00 PM, Room LS 137.

This field course will depart from LAX on January 6 for a 7 day cruise in the Hawaiian Islands.
Students may SCUBA and snorkel as we study the fish & coral communities by day and night.

We will live aboard the Rapture, a 145' expedition vessel equipped with:

  • SCUBA & Snorkel gear
  • Plankton nets
  • Microscopes and
  • Hydrophones to listen to the songs of Humpback Whales.

    Dates:         January 6-13, 2004
    Lab Fee:    $1550 (approximate, actual price depends on final air fare and participation)
    Included:    Roundtrip air fare from LAX, all transfers, food and housing while on board the Rapture

    Non-refundable deposit of $750 due November 8, 2004.
